Gibraltar

We were there a few years ago, parked at La linea and walked in, but the day we were leaving drove into Gib to do some shopping in Morrisons and fill up with cheap diesel, we didn’t have any queues in or out, but I think this is down to how awkward the Spanish are feeling on the day.

Was that pre- or post- the banned "B" word?

We went a few years ago and took one of the cab guided tours, although it was a bit costly, it was very interesting and you to visit the caves and tunnels plus the driver kept the apes under control, which would mean you wouldn't loose your sandwiches or have too walk up😉😁

Nice up top and caves are smashing, rock consort hall was outstanding

Article 4 Section 3 of the Treaty on the European Union pledges 'Pursuant to the principle of sincere cooperation, the Union and the Member States shall, in full
mutual respect, assist each other in carrying out tasks which flow from the Treaties.' Since a major aim of the Treaty [and that of the parallel Treaty on the Functioning of the EU, is the promotion of free movement of people and respect for their human rights, there is no room for grumpy Spanish, or indeed any other nationalities to allow historical spats or similar to get in the way of Border Crossings

Looking to stop in/near Gibraltar for a few nights, anyone able to offer advise?
We always parked in the Marina, you have to walk in over the runway and vehicle go through the new tunnel under the runway which was being built last time We went. The Marina has water and a drop point out on the arm.

Been there a few times. Taking the motorhome into Gib is more hassle than it’s worth. Best is to park in the motorhome area within Alcaidesa marina which is next to the border and walk in. There’s no electric plug in but there is a service area and a laundry. I think it cost me last time about €12 for 24hrs and there’s plenty of room. For longer vans there’s an overflow area. There’s a supermarket in Gibraltar close to the border where you can stock up on monster munch but any fresh/dairy produce can’t be brought through the border. On the Spanish side there’s plenty of Cafes etc and La lines is well worth an explore too. Plenty of Spanish supermarkets in the area just a short drive. Dogs allowed.
