Gibraltar

On places to stay, things to see, border regulations?

Or - Mr F was stationed there. His advice is 'don't run up the rock unless you have a sergeant major chasing you'.

La Linea. then walk in. There's an aire at the harbour.
I looked at their website and it’s a bit confusing (or I’m simple) seems to say 4.5m max…

Do I need to book or should I be ok just rocking up?

Alcaidisa Marina? It shouldn't have a length restriction. It's an aire, so you just turn up but it's quite big.

Disclaimer, we haven't stopped there but Mr 001 knows Gib much better than he'd like to. Nine months is a long time in a place with a footprint smaller than a Tesco car park.

Follow port signs .don't take a left off last roundabout for parking .take a right.
It charges in 24hr blocks after 2 hr. So 26hr get 2 day charge . Water and waste available at one e d and toilet and washing machine at the other..

You can park in la linea free....straight past gib border and head for the sea, turn left and parking is along sea front.it is noisy and lots of traffic.
There is a market just back a bit up dual carriageway every Wednesday
Don't park on blue lines ,they are for parking meters at odd times in the day

I have read in the past that getting back into Spain in a vehicle can be a problem, particularly when relations are strained between the two countries, long queues taking hours to cross over. I had read that parking in Spain and walking was the best solution. I cannot recall the source of this information but seem to recall it was on a motorhome forum, and some time ago.
Might be worth a search on a few motorhome forums.
It will be interesting to hear what you choose and how it works out in due course.

Thank you

Don’t think getting back into Spain would be such an issue as I have an EU passport, but only time will tell.

Where to park
You park just the other side of border spain ops the airport, watch out for door knocker bandits.
Do the caves when there. (y)

AS far as i know there is no parking vor vans or caravans allowed in gib, hence folk park in spain and walk in, loved morocco but look after your wallet and dont go in without a guide/security or you will be lucky to come out with even your undies intact. 😨

No worries with Morocco Trev, spent about 2 years there on and off with work, used to drive to Casablanca and Marrakesh, did have a security guard on one trip but he was a waste of space, worried about your wallet, try Latvia or Mauritania, I actually bailed out of a job in Abuja, left the Truck and the load and flew home.
