Getting New Leather Upholstery - Any Advice for Us?

We have decided to have our MH re upholstered in leather and wondered how other owners have fared in getting it done.

In particular whether it is better to keep the original foam or get it replaced with hard/soft foam for the seats. The MH is 4 years old so the existing stuff is ok but I thought maybe the back seats could be more comfortable with soft foam in them. Perhaps a combination: hard for front, soft for back.

Someone pointed out that if you make the rear seats up into beds, it will affect the final choice.

So, if anyone has any tips or pointers for me, they will be gratefully received before I take the plunge.

Thanks.

Hi toothfairy

sorry can't help with your question, but was wondering, are you replacing old leather, or basically upgrading to leather?

hi fairytooth.we havnt replaced the upholstery but felt we needed firmer foam than what was fitted by the maker. it has made sitting and more importantly sleeping much comfier. we have a firm mattress at home so i suppose that pushed us towards a firmer foam for the van. i guess it depends what works best for you. hope this helps.
