According to my log we have spent 97 nights aboard the motorhome since we got it.

Who else records their mobile activities?

I have a word document with googlestreet hyperlinks and pictures.

Over what period of time ? Since you bought it ?

Feb 2015 purchase.
There was a wee bit of time when it was off the road due to exploding engines though.:mad1:

I keep a diary which is primarily about the van. It over the years has recorded mpg (29), total fuel, total miles, miles on each longer trip, lpg fills and price, locations visited, Aire and campsite costs and maintainence or other details of the vans life.

However I don’t do much with all the info.

Our previous Autosleeper cost £10 per night when I subtracted the trade in value from cost and divided that figure by the number of nights.

The present van is treated to the same recordings. For amusement at night in bed I divide the current vans price by the 212 nights that we have had it (just over 2 years) I either simply divide the cost of the van by nights and since we bought new and it is a Hymer, that figure can be scary. Around £380 per night at present. Then to ease my mind I use a projected figure based on what it cost less potential resale price which makes a more respectable £80 or thereabouts.

I have even worked out that we have been in the van about 25% of the nights that we have owned it!

Sad or what? Am I OCD? Is there a cure?

Davy

I also like to keep records of such stuff as well.
Now that we have just retired, the amount of time spent in the van will significantly increase:drive:
Love reading others facts and figures

We keep a log off each journey, day by day. Have done over the past 5 years, each year gets a new book/diary.
Our fuel, mileage, stopover costs, weather and a small recollection of the location is recorded.
Not yet counted the number of nights, but it would be interesting to see how much fuel has cost us over the 5 years though. :scared:

That's it.. I have decided to use the computer and do a bit of calculating (but not in bed... TeamRienza :) )

All the above is in my Page per day Diary, Collected over years Covers the Whole of the UK along my favourite tramping grounds & is like my Bible.

I started keeping a diary when we had our previous van but soon gave that up.

Now I keep a diary of our longer trips i.e. France Spain Orkney which is more interesting as I include maps postcards leaflets etc.

We have a book we going fill in of all the locations we like or spots that have handy services. My wife likes sketching so hoping she might also include a veiw of our stay.

When we bought our first van, in 1999, we were going to keep a diary.
That lasted until we reached the Algarve, 3 months later.
Then it became a record of booze, food and disaster, as bits fell off the van, due mainly to our ignorance.
It makes thin reading now.

We sleep in the van about 200 nights per year. If that saves us 100 hotel rooms @£60...

Meals out.. 100 @ £23...

Wildcamping saves 170 @ £10...
Total... £6400 per annum.

We can't afford not to have a motorhome.

We didn’t keep detailed records of our first couple of trips unfortunately but the first run out was to Spain in 2013, Sept-Dec so say 90 days. Next trip a little further afield to Morocco via France and Spain and back again, I reckon 68 days. Next trip was overland to Greece and back 28/4 - 3/9, 129 days. Trip number 4 was Spain for most of the winter 12/10 -27/2, 138 days. By now I’m keeping better records so I know our next trip in 2015 to Greece again was 113 days. 2015/16 it was France,Spain,Portugal,Italy and Greece again, 28/9 - 28/6, 276 days. Autumn 2016 and back to Spain for the winter via Portugal, 216 days. A jaunt round the highlands last “summer” 22 days. Currently in Greece having left England on 29th August last year, 244 days so far.

So I reckon that’s 1,296 days/nights so far, not counting the odd trip to UK campsites with family and friends. That’s about 50,000 miles since we bought the van and the best 5 years of our lives.
