Hello
In 2 weeks. Mosselle valley first then on to Heidelberg.
Never been in a German pub that was'nt warm and friendly and the beer is always good.

I thought us wildcampers were the poor people

You lucky people..........

We stopped over on the Stellplatz in Braunlage in october last year, for 2 nights, within walking distance (10 mins) of the town, bar on site, clean showers.
We paid 9 Euro per night, but made the mistake of hooking up to their electric for our heating, and it cost us 20 Euro for electric!!!!
We also took the Seilbahn (cable car) up to the top of the mountain to a restaurant with fantastic views. Well worth paying the 1 Euro to walk up to the top of the ski jump for the views.
Braunlage is a picturesque town with an ice skating rink. There are plenty of parking areas on route to Braunlage, but most of them did not allow parking for motorhomes.
There was a campsite nearby, but that cost 14 Euro per night !

Hope you have a great time.

Us poor people are working apart from a quick couple of nights in Blackpool lol, :) have a great time

Mosel ... my favourite place, will be there in the summer for 2 weeks MMMmmm Bitburger pils !!!

Change of plan !

Due to the Lack of snow in the Harz mountains in Germany we are diverting south to the Bavarian alps staying in a place called "Oberstdorf" a friend of mine gave it a good revue so here goes ! ferry awaiting us in the morn then a 9 hr drive south through Germany, no doubt stopping overnight for a beer or 2.
Any tips gratefully received.

Germany

We stayed a couple of nights in Oberstorft two years ago, nice Aires.
The slopes were very busy on a weekend so try and avoid them.
Seem to remember that the booking office only opens on a morning 9 or 10am for an hour and then again about 5pm,so to get the best for your 24 hrs avoid arriving early morning.
Another Ski resort aires we would reccomend in Germany is Garmisch free bus into the town or take your van to the slopes- free parking
Have a good trip

Returned last night from a 5 day round trip to Hamburg, Germany.

Diesel prices converted to £'s. Belgium= £1.18, Holland= £1.10, Germany= £1.22. Did not refuel in France.
Exchanged gas bottle in Germany: 11Kg gas = £14.65.
