I'm not sure where to post this, sorry if I'm in the wrong place, but

A couple of months ago a member offered me a generator, but I've heard nothing since. Sadly, being a dotty owd so and so, I cannot remember who or when. But if it still available please do get back to me.

How many Watts did that give out ?
]

It was a Kipor 3000w Pure sine , I only had it connected to the van to check the trauma combi was working on electric but when I started it up it started smoking from the control panel then next thing fire , lucky I had a fire extinguisher close , but the genny was a wright off :baby:. I was gutted

Reminds me of advice I gave a while back to a narrow boat owner.

He had a genny running on the rear deck chained to a railing. What's more he had a canvas cover over the top!

I suggested politely that it would be much safer with the genny on the towpath in case the genny should catch fire.

No escape as it was. The whole boat would go up potentially.

Was he concerned? Not much at all. "The boat's insured," said he. But would they pay out for what amounts to negligence?

You asked me for my photo of Lloyd George riding a Camel ..... but I thought you were joking.

Peter I still have that one you gave me if you want it back never started it and it is as was

Peter what were you giving away when you were offered the gent. Or what post were you talking about and we can look through the posts for a name maybe?

Sorry Gordon, I really don't remember. I had a generator that I bought before we had the 'van but never used, so I gave it away to one of our members a couple of years ago. Then realising that we had now the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time off grid, I realised that I may have been a tad short sighted, but, hey, that's me, if it seems to be surplus I give it away. A member of our group said that they had a generator in their garage that was rather mucky but still worked, I asked if I may have it and was told yes, but heard no more. Now me being me and totally muddle headed forgot to follow through, and now I've just remembered due to something else triggering the brain cell, so I thought that I would try and find out who offered it to me and whether I am still able to have it.

So that's it, the best that my red wine sodden brain can recover, as I said 'Lesson Learned'
