Have a problem with my Gaslow when I was in the prosess of changing my propane empty bottle to a full one the gauge is stuck in the empty Red has anyone had this problem and what to do about it please only had it about a year.

Try a complete refill at the pump, then open both valves briefly.
If you still have a problem, contact Gaslow, they are very helpfull.

Happy Camping:)

Do the gaslow bottles use floats, if they do trying holding it at 45 degrees and giving it a sharp knock on the floor

why were you changing bottles if you have Gaslow? , are you using the Gaslow filling system with normal gas bottles?

:confused:I assumed the system was a 2 bottle one? A little better explanation of the system needed.

Gaslow isn't just a system, it's also the name for the gauge and this is what I think he means. I've got a normal single propane bottle with the Gaslow gauge on it. No fixed tank, no refillable bottles with floats, no changeover. All it consists of is an optional pressure gauge which fits between the bottle and the regulator.

I'd suggest giving it a few sharp taps with your fingers, but that's probably already been tried. Or maybe pulse with compressed air if you can get an air fitting on it.

Thank you Firefox, sorry for the confusion everyone. Firefox got it in one I do just have a single propane bottle with a gaslow volume gauge fixed on the regulator. I will try your sugestions firefox.
Many thanks:eek:

Now we are getting somewhere, it's a propane bottle with a Gaslow regulator.
In that case do you have any sludge in the rubber pipe, this is a common fault.
If the gauge is below the top of the bottle then sometimes the sludge will get into the gauge, so try and re-position the gauge higher, and maybe think about fitting a Gaslow Stainless Steel braided pipe.
Like Firefox said, try blowing the system, (pipes and gauge) out with compressed air.

Happy Camping:)

Super Gaslow Service

Just an update from an earlier Gaslow gauge which had stuck on the Red section. I sent it off to Gaslow Thursday 11am with a letter of the fault, and on Saturday it returned good as new. Well done Gaslow super quick.:)

While we're talking Gaslow can I add this comment even it is a little to one side of the original issue. I have a twin Gaslow system, both gauges have broken away from fixing point at the brass valve, I think the fault lies with the flimsy plastic straps that fit the gauge to the brass valve assembly and I have a restraining strap that comes very close to the gauges. That rough trip across Ireland took it's toll on one-or-two things that were-not built for being shook about like most things in a motorhome.

Anyway, to the point. Those gauges work via a magnetic thingy either within the brass valve head or a magnetic thingy inside the gauge. either-way I didn't bother replacing the gauges because they'll just break-off again next time we encounter rough roads.

I figure Gaslow would replace them though, if I want to check the gas level I just hold the gauge against the brass valve.

I agree, Gaslow aftersales are second to none, they posted me parts to France over Christmas:D

How did you get on in France getting a re-fill ? Presumably Gaslow sent you the correct filler so I'm interested. When I installed my bottles I bough three different adaptors including an acme threaded one for the republic or Ireland and even though Ireland has Autogas I didn't come across any but hadn't run out so I didn't go looking.

The French adaptors are on Ebay about £12ish, France is more geared up than any other Country and very easy to find GPL
