Gas pit problem

Hi all,
I have a German Weinsberg MH, in it a 2pit cooker burner. (German made 1993, but I always trusted the Germans about gasing :()
Problem: last year one of te pits gave flame, but the flame went when releasing the button. Had to push the button while cooking, got a tired finger from it. So made a sort of pushing device (in wire) to have the button pushed in while cooking.
Now the second pit has the same; should I replace the whole unit by a new one ? (or do I have an Auswich syndrome ?):eek::eek:
Could there be some clogging in the ventury or the nozzle ? Remedy pease :p

Hi
Sounds more like you have a thermocouple problem. Same as heating systems and fridges there will be a thermo couple which allows gas to flow whilst there is a flame, until its hot enough you must hold the gas button in.

I had this problem with the "Leisure Products" hob in our autosleeper. A new thermocouple cost £4:60 plus carriage & VAT. Fitting was time consuming but not difficult.

I contacted Leisure Product directly to buy the part, rather than going through a dealer. I suggest that you find out the make of your hob and contact them.
