One of my gas rings are not working. The other two are fine. The one I think is faulty is that when I press the knob in and light the gas, I get a flame, as I slowly release the knob it goes out. Any advice on this please. Would like to know how to go about solving the problem
Thanks folks

probably need a new thermo couple . that little pin the flame plays on is made of two different metals, inside the outer is a thin wire and when heat is applied a small electric charge is created which in turn holds an electromagnetic valve open ,
you overcome this when you first light up the gas
when you let go of the the valve it returns to shut off the gas as it believes that the flame is not there
although you know different
contact the maker of your cooker/hotplate for a replacement or you
could try a calorgas supplier for a corgi to do it for you £100000s
or Evan m/h supplier hope this helps more £10000s

swanky devils, more than two gas rings! now you're just showing off.

Yep, I would take tofu advice as sundowns menu might get a bit..........:(

Only joking sundown I'm partial to the 'on toast' menu. The possibilities are endless, infact I had tinned pilchards (in tomato juice) on toast the other night, the kids were drooling.

You gotta be smart Buddy;) Two rings I always use, the third is a spare, like a tyre  I will have it checked out, and change the part if needed. Hope I can pick it up in the UK.

Hi Sundown, I cook three times a week, curry and rice, last 3 days, spaggetti bolognese, 2 days and Chinese fried noodles, 2 days. Make about 18 cups of tea for two daily and a hot choc before we hit the sheets. All meals don't take more than half hour a day to make. Preperations don't need gas. I cook and the Mrs washes up. Got it to a fine art.

We had this in the last caravan - it WILL be the flame failure safety thermo couple, on our cooker it cost £29!!! When the second one failed I just dis-connected it... well they never used to have them did they! Just don't use that ring for simmering, then it's never on a low flame that could blow out.
