Planning a trip to Black Forest but…I have read on another site that Germany has since 2025 been requiring biannual gas certificates for motorhomes. Despite this not being required of non-German registered vans, there are nevertheless reports of some campsites and stellplatzen refusing access to vans without.

Has anyone on here had any experience of this. Most habitation checks in UK seem only to give a tick on a checklist for gas, and don’t issue a certificate.

The requirement of gas certificate on a German van has been about for many years, they issue a sticker, here's the one on our van. Note the date.

Good luck finding a gas engineer in this country who can make out a mobile gas cert. They are or were only a few years ago few and far between and I don't think that will have altered much.

Just come back from 2 months in the Black Forest, Bavarian Alps and Switzerland. Mix of sites and stellplatz, and no mention of this anywhere.

I doubt anything has been changed, I've read the same story's about needing a 'gas cert' for years, but AFAIK it has only applied to German registered vehicles.
