If by gas you mean lpg/propane/butane the no, they are different. Usually American RV’s I have heard of with gas alarms. I think all vans I know about will have smoke alarm and carbon monoxide.
edit: check if is a combined alarm though, some check for more than one thing

Secondary protection is to reduce the impact of failure by drop outs and ventilation;
Tertiary protection is to warn of danger by alarms to warn.
