garmin satnav

hi all
i have a garmin nuvi1300 sat nav and a couple of times it has 'frozen' with either a blank screen after it switched itself off whilst in use or just the map on screen which doesnt get updated , no response to the on/off button . if left off for day or so it clears itself ( but makes you look a tit when you take it back to halfords ), however the guy at hafords told me if it happens again to hold the 'on' button down and touch the bottom right of the screen and it should resolve itself . Well it happened again yesterday , in the middle of Edinburgh :mad: and i did as he said and it came back to life :).
Yes.... i know it shouldnt do that and i might take it back , but if yours does the same try it !
 
My Nuvi went blank yesterday a few times... never done that before....i tapped the screen and it came back on - had forgotten about that but think i will take it back to Halfords.. .am sure satnav's are not supposed to go blank :confused:me maybe :confused:
 
cheers lads i have a garmin too and had that happen:mad: unplugged for a bit then replugged and ok but methinks your way is the right way heehee so i'll have to w8 til it does it again to try:)
 
I too have a Garmin Nuvi that occasionally freezes. there is a little pin-hole on the bottom of the unit, on mine it is under the sticker that has the serial number on it. I have to press in this hole with a biro pen..and 'Voile'!! it comes back to life.

I use a Tomtom satnav, and twice it has frozen. I just reset it in the same way as Jacques le foot & Allerdalechef reset there units.

I contacted Garmin when it first happened, and they told me what to do. :D
