Is it worth the money? (About £350)

I'm travelling with someone who has the new Camper and it looks really slick. It probably does far more than I'd ever learn to use but I've always said I couldn't do the camper thing without a satnav and would always treat myself to the best on the market. Even though it doesn't make my reversing any better! I've got the 760 at the moment which is great.

Btw, please, no comments asking what's wrong with good old fashioned maps!

I changed from the Garmin Nuvi2595 5" Sat Nav to a Camper 660.
Integrated support for Cameras and ability to specify weight, speed limit and vehicle dimensions I think is very handy and worth the upgrade, as well as the bigger screen.
So if you were thinking of a similar swap, I would say 'go for it', but as you already have all those features and more, what extra feature will a 770 give you over a 760 which is worth over £300?

You can no longer get the BC20 wireless reversing camera for the 760. The 770 uses the BC30 camera. It is a poor quality camera anyway. I have the 760 and it is OK but not worth the money in my view. Register for the offers from Alde and Lidl as they occasionally sell them cheap.

I bought a brand new one a few days ago for £298. I'm still in the process of setting it up, waiting for delivery of a Micro SD card. You need one as the first map update is 9GB and there is not enough space on the internal memory!

I had a discussion with the Garmin stand at last Octobers Caravan and Motorhome Show and plumped for the 760. The 770 has a revised mount which appears to be a lot more fiddly than the 760 mount. If you are going to use a Garmin mount and plan only have your sat nav on display when you are on the move then ease of dismounting for me was a major consideration. For those who have the Fiat Ducato dash tablet holder the Garmin sat nav won't fit as it is too deep. It would be great if it did so I am working on making my own adaptor to allow the Garmin sat nav to clip into the Fiat tablet holder. Maybe Garmin should come up with something as an accessory?

PS I wouldn't be without it is it is great with all the added POI uploads from various apps and clubs. Only downside is that you do occasionally have to apply common sense and not go down the suggested lane!

Not sure if the camera quality comment was about the BC30 or the BC20? I am assuming BC20 if you are using one with the 760.
As far as the BC30 goes, I think it is very good and works well for its intended purpose. I have actually bought a second BC30 to use as a rear view camera as like the quality (the first is very much for reversing/ towbar hitch use).

There must be some difference as the BC20 is not compatible with the 770.
