Help!!
Our Transit has developed a marked vibration - like a very badly balanced wheel.
It's not associated with engine revs and I have had all 4 wheels jacked up.
So there's nothing obvious and I need to take it to a garage.
It's driveable - the vibration is noticeable above about 25 mph.
Can anyone recommend a garage in Calais?
Thanks - in anticipation of any help that you can give us.
Cheers
Mike

Can’t help with recommending a garage in Calais but it may be that you have lost a balance weight, have you checked to see if there are any witness marks where a weight may have been (both outer and inner rims)?

If its on the front wheels then balance weight wheel bearing or cv joint, look for a clean mark on the wheel rims front and back first.
Also could be a bad tyre with bands gone, spin the wheels and look, easy to see.

Maybe your tyres have developed some flats on them, easily missed, jack them up and take a closer look.

Is it a front wheel or rear wheel drive
does the vibration feel like coming up the column
when driving along at a steady speed with vibration present keep the power on and see if the vibration /judder goes away when you press the brake pedal lightly to deter whether it's in the front ?could be a drive line fault

Injector failure sounds like

Morning All
Very many thanks to you all.
Problem solved.
It was a "pneus deformee" on a rear tyre.
Difficult to spot because it was quite extensive. About a foot of the tread had started to separate from the band!
Thank goodness it didn't blow while we were driving.
I'd done about 350 miles on Saturday in very hot weather - maybe a factor?
Anyway it's a big relief - better than a couple of drive-shafts!
Thanks again.
Cheers
Mike
