Nice one John. I got a 10 Liltre water container for what I saved on fuel.

Sainsbury's have just topped that for the first time!!

Spend £60 and get 10p/ltr off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that IS a saving!

5p off

If Tesco in Cheltenham is anything to go by they increase the price of Diesel by 2p just before the offer is coming up so you are only saving 3p in reality , every little helps , helping you save money and so on.

We were at Hexham for a Car Boot (selling) so we got the shopping from
the Tesco Store then on route home got the diesel from Kingston Park.

So with the goods mentioned -- 15p per litre discount

Good deal or what.

price of fuel

at a tesco store at bishop auckland co durham des is £1.31 lit

Not much of a saving - 135 litre tank on my 'bus = £6.75 on a full tank, costing something like 180 quid to fill it - at 11mpg that means that if I drive a 12 mile detour (eg 6 there and 6 back) to get to the Tesco, its not worth it..... and They dont have a fast fill HGV pump I bet.

15p per litre discount would save you £20. 25 pence if you did the full
135 litres. We saved about £7 on 49 litres.

I was never good at maths though.

Silly but I was very pleased with my 15p off it brought the price down to about £1.17 but not so long ago I was really peeved at having to fork out a pound a litre. How quickly things change.

Richard

Dont think you can use more than one coupon per single transaction... and there is a maximum of 100 litres per transaction according to info on coupon.... Never the less we saved £2.50 on 50 litres today!

Hi Chris

The quote "Up to 3 coupons can be used each time you fill up. That's up to 15p off per litre of fuel every time you fill up." was taken directly from the TESCO website also quoted in the post.

It may just be me but the petrol promotion bit of the Tesco website wasn't working yesterday evening (googled direct, not from OP's link) - I went to try and check there were no changes, and when the site wasn't working I wondered if they'd changed the offer.

However, now seems to be there with no changes.

However, one thing to watch is the Coke deal - Tesco currently have a BOGOF on Pepsi 8-packs at £3.78 - according to my calculations that's the equivalent of £7.08 for 30 cans, and the Coke is £10 for 30. So unless you top up more than 58 litres you'd do better not doing the Coke voucher! (My wife reckons I'm sad working this out!!)

Hi John... Not doubting you for one min as I did not look up the Tesco website! This is the problem with all these offers, one has to be some kind of an 'offer sniffer' to really make any savings (bit like my wife) and to be honest... I cant be bothered with it all as it takes away valuable living time. :)

Tesco Vouchers

I've recently discovered that you can use Tesco club card points towards gas and electric bills with EON. A £10 voucher becomes worth £15. I now buy all my fuel at Tesco if I can even without the other incentives mentioned.

Passing through north Derbyshire today - Tescos 138p for diesel (133p if you buy lots of coke/tuna/whatever); Sainsbury's 133p with no other purchase required. The cheapest we have seen in the past week was in county Durham - 130p at Sainsbury's. The moral? Beware of "special" offers - they are sometimes not worth the cardboard they are written on. Happy travels.

Extra Savings

Don't forget that if you spend over £100 (which we did on Tuesday) the cashiers are happy if you ask them to split your bill into 2 x £50 receipts, hence 2 coupons.

Yes, but for those of us who shop at Lidl and therefore save a lot of money compared with Tesco, this is not a good offer!
