Hi
Been playing with these and found this as best type!
Turns on with ignition feed so you wont forget.
Has flip down screen to set up
Handy not only to view idiot drivers but to show route sights as well.
And many other uses ( turn on with motion sensor and view down the garden ?)
Used it last year abroad , and down loaded 16 gig card on regular basis, to computer to edit later!

I use a Roadscan from a company in harpendum. It's a fit and forget system that's quite unobtrusive but has accelerometers in it that you can adjust. In the event of harsh breaking or if the sensors "feel" an impact the camera remembers the preceding 14 seconds and records the subsequent 6 seconds so you have a 20 second "event" recorded for viewing. The system can hold 10 events in its memory and you download any that you need to keep. It also has a manual trigger which will cause the same recording sequence.
It's not a cheap system but it's worth it's weight in gold in my opinion and has saved my ass on one occasion when I was the victim of one of these car crash scams... People pulling in front of you then braking fiercely so you hit them. I insisted in calling the police and did not tell the scammers that there was a camera in the van as its pretty unobtrusive looking a lot like a sat nav.
Brilliant kit.. And I would recommend one to anyone.

I use a Vcam it records constantly in 2 minute bursts and when the card is full it writes over itself. Card holds something like 40 minutes so any problem you have it recorded. Any accident you can use it with its own internal battery to video the scene and any damage and people involved. Brilliant little bit of kit and only £35 :drive: Waiting to renew insurance to see what the difference will be.
