Many of you will already be aware that this year the National Trust started to allow motorhomes and campervans to park overnight in a few of their car parks in the Lake District for a small fee.

For the first time since the pandemic began we finally managed to get back over to one of our favourite places in the Lakes and paid £10 to stay over at Stickle Ghyll car park on Monday night.

We received a warm welcome from the staff and had a meal, drinks and a game of scrabble in the Sticklebarn and the Langdales NT pub 🍻

In the morning I searched the car park for litter and couldn’t find any at all (🙌🏻) so instead picked up a small amount from a walk we did in the area 🚮

We are self contained but there are 24 hour toilets (open Fri-Sun at the moment) and if you show your parking ticket at the Great Langdale National Trust Camp Site you can use their waste facilities.

If you’re staying in one of these car parks overnight (or even just during the day) please consider doing a little litter pick and sending photos to National Trust (can be done via Facebook) to encourage them to make this a permanent scheme and perhaps open up more car parks for overnight stays 🙏🏼

Thanks as always for your continued support 💚👣🚐🚮
