Hi All,
I used to be a member of wild camping a few years ago.
My ex and I had a Hymer which was great but got sold when we separated. It took a while to get back on my feet and I met a lovely man whom I'm extremely happy with, we both love the outdoors so I convinced him to go halves on buying another motorhome with me.
My new partner doesn't drive at all, and I was always very apprehensive about driving the Hymer as it was quite a large vehicle, although not nearly so much as some
so due to my fear of driving larger vehicle issues & having a small budget I searched for a van conversion and eventually found one we could afford.
We got it locally which was lucky, from an old couple who wanted to sell due to ill health.
The husband had converted the van himself to a nice standard and very little needed changing apart from us deciding we didn't want a table and seating during the day and much prefer the fixed bed option which solves the problem of bedding storage and where the dog fits lol.
We eat outside when weather is good or chill out on the bed with a tray each at other times. The bed is much more comfortable than the awful bench seats anyway with lots of cushions.
The previous owners only stayed on sites so it's not really set for wild camping but we've bought a generator which stores under the bed near back doors and Skye our dog has a lovely large space under the bed to sleep and lay in out of the way.
We will look at alternative power supply for when generator isn't viable, the Hymer had Solar panels and leisure batteries which may be the way forward when we save some more pennies.
Anyway, this is it so far....
