fridge vent install siting dilemma on s555 hymermobil

some info or stories please on these.
they all seem to be fitted on the side which must be really poor for cooling and isolation from inside.
i have bought the Dometic LS100/200 vents and they are too big to go there even though they seem to be correct for the airflow capacity. i'm seriously thinking about cutting them into the back, behind the fridge! like it should be!
has anyone done this?
i don't mind being a pioneer, but want to avoid getting arrows in my back!
the 555's I've seen have smaller vents on the side and i will have to shift the bottom vent to the side of the lights using the ls200 to fit them at the rear.
how close to the back window can you cut the opening for the top vent?
the fridge is a Waeco Combicool cas-60 and never been connected for the gas
would be greatful for alerts about any potential problems before i start jigging!
cheers
Bob

same here, like to help and fitted many fridges, don't know the hymer can't grasp the prob.all fridges i know of vent at the back or through the floor and the back

if theres no gas involved the venting is for cooling the heat exchanger plates on rear of fridge these need air flow across them you could use floor entry and roof out or combination of either and side vents you can use smaller vents and fans to increase airflow
if there is no gas then the clearance to windows is not applicable
