Hi all and help.....I think i know where it is coming from but when i light the fridge I get a smell of fumes and I am thinking its from the exhaust and, the pilot light goes out after 10 – 15 mins. Has anyone experienced this ?? I am thinking the exhaust is maybe blocked some where, if it was split the pilot light would not go out ?? So is it easy to take the fridge all the way out, had it as far as I could with out disconnecting the gas, are there any hidden wires or pipes that anyone know off…..thanks in anticipation…..

Fridge Smells

It is sometimes possible to get at the back of the fridge by takeing the vent off

you'll should also have 12v and 230v cables if a three way, these i believe are mostly connected via screw block on top, i also believe they are generally or should be, supplied with enough cable to pull them out of the hole before disconnecting, unless you can get to the connecting block through the outside vents.

have you tried a co detector inside or near the fridge whilst on..but then again if your gonna take it out anyway, may as well get it serviced.

I'm no engineer, just going on what I've seen and fitted.

Thanks people, i should think there would be plenty of wire cos they had to put it in so makes sence thanks

Ive had it out, a lot easyer than you think, cleaned the flue and burner, all works fine now. If you have the same problem or you just think it needs a clean, and they do if you use them a lot, go for it, its really not that hard...

We had the same trouble last year, after the fridge had had a service, my husband pulled the fridge out and found the chap who did the job had not put the insulation back, my husband put in new insulation and that solved the problem. Bambi 2
