The previous owner obvisously forgot to mention that the fridge does not work on 240v ... along with the fact that the water pump leaks, awning light only turns off if you remove fuse, filter tap leaks ..... and that's in just the 3 weeks we've had it!!!

I found a posting from him 3 years ago enquiring about the fridge not working on 240v, but there was only one reply, so I'm assuming he never solved the problem!!!

It is a 3 way fridge that switches automatically. I only realised it wasn't working because the gas was switched off and I could hear the ignition clicking away!

12v and gas seem fine and bring the fridge down to about 4 degrees.

It's a Euramobil 363 and any advice, starting with the most simple advice (!) would be appreciated. The only thing we have checked so far is that the fuse with a star symbol in the fusebox under bench seat is ok - this stopped entire fridge working when removed. I have also confirmed that there is power to the 240v plug sockets.

Thank you

Sounds like the heating element has gone.
Mine went in my Dometic.
If you know where the gas burner is there will be two elements in a tube above the gas burner.
The element with the thick wires is for 12V the other one 230V.
The 230V one should have a resistance of probably less than 1000 ohms, if it open circuit it has gone.
You can check to see if you have 230V in the wires going to the element.
If you Google for the element you will probably find one.
One problem I have is if the outside temperature is to low the 230V element is not good enough to get the system working unless the ventilation covers are on.

To me if it switches automatically why should it click when the gas is turned off as the clicking noise is the igniter for the gas system so maybe the auto switch system as gone faulty:sad:

Unfortunately I can't check on the make as my hubby is currently at a residential in cheltenham in it .... and all manuals are in a locker!

When I plugged motorhome into mains and switched on fridege, it did several loud clicks (that it makes when you switch engine off and it clicks over to gas from 12v) and then started a gentle ticking that is the ignition for the gas.

Will post when he gets home

Sounds like the fridge is not detecting the 240v mains supply.

Check for a mains circuit breaker which supplies the fridge, or a switch in the mains supply to the fridge.

If there's no dedicated circuit breaker or switch you'll need to check (carefully!) for the 240 mains supply at the fridge itself. If it's present then I think the most likely problem is a faulty circuit board at the fridge. If you've no 240v at the fridge itself look for broken or loose connection in the mains supply from the mains circuit breaker box to the fridge.
