Hi
Just on our way to port and have noticed that the fridge gas burner is making a spluttering noise as though it is being blown out and then immediately restarting.
Does anyone have an idea as to what this might be, or how I can stop it?
Thanks in anticipation.
Regards

Are you supposed to be driving with the fridge running on gas? I ALWAYS turn mine to battery.
You certainly shouldn't be allowed on cross-Channel transport with your gas supply on.

Hi
Thanks for your reply but I am not running on gas.
Just noticed when parked last night.

Are your gas rings on the cooker burning ok, if yes then it is probably the jet on the fridge that needs cleaning or replacing, if the cooker rings are spluttering then it is probably your regular

Hi
Cooker rings are fine. The burner flame is blue and spluttering a bit. There are red bits around the flame so maybe there are some inpurities that need cleaning out.
When I get to France, I shall strip it down and check the jet.
Thanks
Martin

A quick fix I've done in the past.Turn fridge off.If you have a bicycle pump handy direct the adapter towards the jet and blow out the bits that have probably dropped down from the exhaust.

If you blew the area with a tyre inflator you have probably blown something onto the jet, it needs removing and cleaning properly, it won't help you now but carry a can of this
ideal for blowing debris out

When you can take the windshield away from around the jet,as said.Probably have a chunk of carbon lodged there as in the pic.
One screw removed lowers the jet so you can see more clearly.
Don't poke anything in the jet ,you may make the problem worse.

It is firing again now but still spluttering.
After under the cover screw, how does the cover come away? I can’t get it to move.
Much appreciate the replies.

The windshield cover has two screws, one has to be removed but there is one at the rear which is in a slot and can just be loosened, the cover will then come off, the burner assembly has one screw at the front but the assembly can be tight and needs wiggling

Hi again. Had the system all cleaned out at a dealer but still no better.
Possibly the fridge needs to come out and the circuit boards checked.
Thank goodness we are in France where you can get someone to look at the van.
No chance in U.K.
