French Motorway Toll Tag 2026

I started a thread about trying to purchase a Fulli Tag but I thought I'd start a new thread as the search for a tag widened.

I wanted to buy a cheap and easy tag to use on the odd occasion I use a French motorway.

Fulli looked like the cheapest but there was no option of paying with a uk bank account.
Ulys looked good but they wouldn't accept my Halifax bank details. (I checked with Halifax who said they do accept SEPA direct debits so I don't know why there is a problem)
Bip and go.... member GMJ offered me a discount code. I tried to sign up but the site wouldn't accept my uk address. I contacted the help desk who told me they wouldn't accept a uk bank account and that I should try Emovis. (Who are expensive to set up)
I then opened a Revolut account and tried again with Ulys.
All went well for a while. My application was accepted. They then asked me for a €120 deposit!
So..
It looks like we'll be going through the card payment gate with my wife hanging out of the passenger window.

As far as I can see it's impossible to get a new cheap tag in the uk.
I know quite a few of you have tags from many of these companies and pay from a standard uk bank. But, it seems things have changed and new accounts are not being accepted.

If anyone had been able to open an account recently I'd love to hear about it.

I use bip and go. Today I received an email informing me of an increase in fees.
Beginning in June the charge (in those months that the tag is used) will increase from €1.90 to €2.10
Not a huge increase and the first since I started using them in 2023.
The actual toll charges remain a mystery as to how they are calculated and I assume change price on an annual basis. I just pay them for the convenience of using a section of motorway, not that we use many.
I do however make a point of using a tolled motorway once a year to maintain continuity. Interestingly the email indicates that a charge will be levied if the tag is not used for 14 consecutive months charged at €15. I must say I was not aware of this penalty.

I have Bip&go, and will be using it for the first time next week!
I knew that my bank, First Direct, would not allow a DD from outside the UK, so I opened an account with Starling and deposited some money in it. The Bip&go setup payment failed, and I then discovered it had to be a Euro account. It was a simple matter to convert the Starling account to a Euro one, all done online, and it's all good now

Just got this from bip&go.
Might need a rethink on this tag

Very curious. I cannot find any charge rate like that on the bip&go website.
Is your van higher than 3 metres and heavier than 3500kg ?
What plan are you subscribing to ?

Update
I have telephoned Bip and Go. With my bad French and their bad English we cobbled together!
I think the problem is with my home address. I cannot get their system to recognise it properly. The system does have my address on the drop down menu ( When I enter my postcode) but when I try to validate it the system doesn't like my postcore with a space in it. If I remove the space it doesn't recognise my address!
The guy at Bip and Gp said I would be better with Emovis as Bip and go take a very long time to send out the tag and Emovis is better suited to English applications.

Following Korky's suggestion I tried ATMB.
Set up was a dream! The tag is on its way. Only problem is that it doesn't cover Spain, however we can work around that.

It would appear that whatever I do means opening a suitable bank account.
Somebody recommended Wise to me , Starling seems a good option too

When we got our Bip&Go a few years back it was delivered to our home within 10 working days from ordering and paying.

It looks like a misprint..2 years back it was €15 last year.€17 and now going to €19 per year . .4 countries and class 2
Might be sending it back before it .increases again.

I have used Wise for some years, principally to use the card for payments in euros, with the account being topped up as required from a French bank account. I have found it excellent for this. When an amount is reserved against the card (e.g. for self-service pumps), I find that the balance is released very promptly, usually before I have driven away.
