Free overnight camping in or around Dover

Hi,

I am looking for an overnight stop in or close to Dover to catch an early morning ferry, with my two small children.

I have read that you can park at Marine Parade - is this safe with kids?

Or alternatively are there any other locations/pubs nearby that allow you to stay for free?

Many thanks,
Jon.

We always stay on Marine Parade and never had any problems Don't see why it shouldn't be safe for kids..It's no more or less safe than anywhere else. Police regularly go up and down the road. Enjoy your trip.

Stopped at Tesco's on the outskirts of town

Arrived lateish, hid in corner, bought some last minute provisions and checked with customer service who said as long as I was gone early, no problem.

Where's Channelcrosser when you need him?

You might find some useful information here Home Page

re staying in dover

We staayed on marine parade recenty no problems. Quite a few vans there.i think you must pay from 9'30on

i come from dover and marine drive is the best place to stay the kids can play on the beach to break the time whilst wating for ferry and you can walk into town two mins away. also walks along pier plus police patrol area regulary

Why not try Canterbury Park and Ride, cheap, quiet and water and waste with a ticket into Canterbury for about £5?
