Free MOT at Halfords auto centre

Just had an email circular for a free MOT at any Halfords auto centre.
Just buy anything from an Halfords shop any value, at the till give your email addy vehicle reg, name etc and receive your free MOT voucher valid till October 2019? must be booked on line.
Not sure if the Halfords autocentres can MOT a m/home or large campervan, but will defo be good for the car.
you must purchase something from 10th September to 14th Oct 2018

If the MOT is free, then I guess if you don't agree with the result you can go elsewhere. Or take the vehicle away to be repaired and retested.
It's a matter of going with eyes open.

Personally I have never sort out the places offering discounted MOTs as think (rightly or wrongly) that they are more likely to fail to generate work. (But I did get my LT done last time at a commercial specialist for £40 and got a perfect pass).

A relative recently got quoted for new front coils, struts and a steering rack when it turned out to be only a front wheel bearing :scared:

I believe this to be a common misconception.
