Free Cable

Hi all, ive got a very long orange hook up cable im giving away to a good home. I had one already and the Adria came with one. Im on hols for a week drinking beer and eating crap but the missus is having a clear out and im under instructions to chuck stuff out or im in trouble. They cost £20 ish but free to a good home. Its mint condition. If anyones up here in the north east and needs a hook up cable let me know. Im living in Crook in CO Durham. Post would sadly cost a good few £££ as its heavy.

I have never used logarithm's since I left school but surprisingly Latin comes in useful

To find the value of a logarithmic function, we used a book of log tables. The only thing I remember about log tables is that they are made from trees with square roots......

I still have my slipstick somewhere, best guess with them really and used to write on the exam paper "answer to slide rule."

I used to love Latin.

It is actually a very useful language, especially when it comes to plant names.

Also, I was dragged up as a catholic until I got old enough to make my own mind up (load of old tosh), and used to enjoy the Latin mass as a kid.
Reckon the old boys in the Vatican cocked up when they decided to do away with it and have the mass said in the local language of whatever country you lived in. Nothing particularly unifying about that decision.

In Latin you were able to attend mass anywhere in the world and be able to join in.
What would have been wrong with publishing the mass in Latin with local language translation underneath?
It's not like they couldn't afford to have done it!

Always thought it was a pity (well, not really, but hope you see what I mean )
It did nothing to help their 'cause', if you can call the pursuit of power, subjugation of followers and accumulation of vast wealth a 'cause'?

It is also a very useful language when travelling in Europe, you can recognise similarities with other words and work out where it came from, it doesn't always work but illa anima est
