Well ,after another Bank Holiday washout:mad:, we,ve decided that next year will be our first venture abroad in search of warmer climes:), hoping to do France and further South till It,s time to turn back. Not looking for advice as I know theres already lots on here to be researched, thanks to Belgian,***** and Co. It,s getting over the pond thats the problem:(, Just priced Newcastle to Amsterdam @ £650:eek: (£350 is for cabin/brekkie) which we could do without if we drove down to Dover and used the chunnel, also Amsterdam is about in line with Cambridge on the grid lines so, still a long way to drive south when I could do Cambridge for around £40 and Dover for around £70:confused:
So we,re looking for any cost cutting tips to get across there if you would be so kind;)

Thanks in advance:)

Save your Tesco vouchers and exchange them for deal-tokens
Then get your crossing via Eurotunnel for free.
Your £300 quid-up already and if you avoid the peage going south you'll save another 60 to 90.
Stay only in aires ie free aires and you'll only need money for derv and food.

regards...nige

Lenny, I've a cheaper option. Take your holiday at the same time as me and come to the same area. I always get good weather. Scotland 2x, Ireland, lakes 3 times, all fantastic hols with good/great weather. Although that said, watch it rain all next week in Norfolk......

Oh well, I'll be in the pub if I've got anything to do with it a week on Saturday, its my 40th......... Yes, I know I don't look that old.

Just had a thought, Lenny.
You will have to get Jack a new swishy swim suit and one of those little cravat's that the French dogs wear.
Or is he going nude:D:D

We,ll have to look for something new ,but in the meantime It,ll have to be the little blue number , as you can see by his face ,he really likes this one:rolleyes::D

Lenny,

In the C&CC monthly mag they have a feature on Harwich to Hook of Holland. The prices quoted are for a car and one for a caravan. Presumably length based. Caravan is £91 one way.
They also mention booking through their own international travel service "Carefree". It might be worth checking out their website.
If I come across any other info, I will pass it on.

Thanks for the info on Druridge.

France and beyond

We booked P & O Hull to Rotterdam through the Caravan Club for our trip it cost £370 return with our 7metre van and included 7 camping cheques, If booking the cheques in with your trip you get ITX rates what ever they are. The cheques are for one nights camping including elec, no pre booking nec just turn up at the sites. The book you get with the cheques tells you when the sites accept them but they are valued for 2 years. We saved more than our £37 club membership I have insured the van with CC this year as they guarentee to knock £25 off your quote and they did
