France 80km 100km 110km rear mounted speed limit stickers for van exceeding 3.5t

It is my understanding that these rear mounted stickers are not compulsory in France on foreign owned motorhomes exceeding 3.5t.

For those who do not apply these to the rear of the motorhome, have you ever had any issues with the authorities?

I have the Crit'Air and now the Angles Morts stickers but never bothered with the speed restriction ones.

Been pulled a few times in roadside checkponts including a couple of months back and they never said anything about them but did notice the others and we got waved out by the cheerful Gendarmes
