We headed out from Marganaheglish yesterday for a walk over the Clauchland hills over to Brodick. On a forestry track we saw more felled tress than we had ever before. Thousands of logs stacked on each side for around 400M about 20 feet high, it was an awesome sight. The last shot was looking over to Brodick bay goatfel hidden by the clouds.

Stunning Bill!
It was Rob. We never expected to see anything like this. We got chatting to the forestry guys there’s 10 years worth of logging left on Arran. Raining today so we are heading for Glenashdale falls, should be in full flow.

I believe the Scottish timber industry is quite well managed, but I do hate to see huge patches where trees once stood. But they must be replanting so it is sustainable?
Similar here when they clear out a big block. The manager said they replant but it also gives the growth underneath a chance with sunlight. Some of the area now have wonderful fauna n flora growing. People forget it's an industry as such so they need to manage it

have they got such a big pile because they can’t get it of the island bloody ferries

They don’t use the ferries, they use logging boats. That’s what we were told by the forestry workers that day.
