Can anyone help replace a Ford transit camper van ECU?

We have had an auto electrician identify a replacement is required as sometimes every electric item goes haywire and you cant even open doors . Apparently its a common ford transit problem, but we cant find anyone to do it except a Ford main dealer at a cost of £1588! due to the reprogramming required.

Can anyone recommend anyone who might be able to do this at a reasonable price

We live in the Midlands .

It’s a 2007 115 T350L so not sure if that answers the question

Consensus at the moment seems to point to the Body Control Module. There is guy who has them but I need to tell him where you are located, Midlands will do for the moment.

While on the subject of Ford Transit Mk.7 and replacement, just ensure that you don't have to replace the entire vehicle. I speak from bitter experience. The Ford Transit Mk.7 is extremely vulnerable to theft (both entry and removal of vehicle). There are at least a couple of threads here giving information as to basic protection measures to take.

Spot on....
Disklok (ideally modified)
Electrical isolator
Fuel isolator
EOBD Protection/relocate
As a minimum....

Standard locks are easily defeated in seconds with a £25 Tibbe lock pick

Hykee hi security replacements the same but the pick is slightly more expensive.

Standard immobiliser is decent BUT if they can get to the EOBD it's useless as it can be bypassed in seconds.

Google advice thanks. If we can get the body control unit replaced we will do more security. It’s pretty secure if the BCU is not working as you can’t wouldn’t start anyway 😀

There are places that offer to repair BCM's.
When I had a similar problem with my Ducato The local main dealer quoted £746 for a replacement unit Checking for other suppliers I found a Fiat dealer in Italy would post it to me for €450. But my auto electric found one s\h for less than £100, Which he programmed

Found a couple of guys in the north of Lancashire who said they could help and one guy who said he could supply modules but when pressed for a ball park price didn’t respond. There must be somebody in your area I would have thought.

We have done all the normal google searches and been in touch with at least 4 auto electricians but none could do the job because of the re- programming apparently. It seems we have no options other than a Ford main dealer. The suggestion of the business in Surrey was much appreciated but as the van electrics cut ou completely mid way through turning right across oncoming traffic last week, we are reluctant to travel that far

@greg1 Have a look at this sellers listings they mention plug an play no programing needed
