This is a LUCAS 196SA battery isolator switch. It's a seriously heavy duty double pole switch continuously rated at 150amps. A solenoid allows for remote "OFF" with a push button. Definitly OTT for a small van but may be of interest to someone with mega van. This one is the 12volt standard version although I can't seen any difference on the spec sheet between ths one and 24v version.

I know 150amps sounds a lot of current but I wonder if everyone knows that if they fit a 2000w inverter the current draw on max would exceed the spec for this switch! Even a 1000w would one might approach 100 amps on full load. Any tiny resistance on the wiring - including a puny battery switch - will be a big problem..
