The flies are starting to drive the dog crazy so I thought I'd get one of those fluffy hangy fly stopper things for my hab door, can anyone recommend one that does the job and doesn't cost the earth?
Cheers,Dave.

The electric fly swatters in poundland are good they work on spiders as well.

He's likely to attack me if I try swatting them! I'd really prefer to just stop them getting in in the first place.

what you will find the curtains blow around in the wind.

Butchers shops use metal chain curtains but of course those are not practical on a motorhome.

I did have the coloured plastic ones but found they were far too light and blew around in the slightest breeze, the fluffy ones look like they would be much heavier and seem like they'd do a much better job.

Just run em down.:)

If you go on eBay and look for " chenille door curtain" they should come up - about £25 ...

I reckon you could make one that fits the hab door?

Neil made me this with chicken wire to keep cats (ours & neighbours!) out of greenhouse, I'm sure something similar could be manufactured with the sort of fine mesh stuff they use for making fly screen blinds in them there posh modern motorhomes :)

PS. Maybe a roll-up type? That 'velcros' onto the door frame, so to speak, & packs away when not using?

Reckon there's a business idea there for someone, that's if it hasn't already been done :)

The chenille ones are rubbish. Look good but don’t keep flies out. We’ve had one of these for a few years and it does the job ok.

That's the word I was looking for, they aren't called fluffy hangy things after all;)

Chenille as in Image.
They're often called Rasta Hair Curtains, or Cats Tails
I just use it as a privacy screen, to many gaps to be
effective as I use it so can't say whether it's effective
at keeping flies out.
