There has always been a draught through the Hab door and I never got round to addressing it until today (I usually just turned the van round when it was a problem :lol-061:).

It's a nice day so I thought I would have a look at it. There is no adjustment on the hinged side of the door and I got a bit suspicious. I verified online that the correct seal was fitted then I tried to ease it loose. That's when I found the problem. It IS the right seal but it was fitted the wrong way round and held in place by a lot of black mastic. It will not have been like that from new so I suspect some tosser at a Dealership has done some work on the door and is responsible. I bet his ears were burning while I was removing all of the crap he had used.

It would appear that a new seal is fitted while the door is horizontal and held in place with a few dabs of adhesive as it is all soft rubber, this makes it a bugger to fit single handed when it is vertical and outdoors. :( So I have opted for plan B. I am going to fit a new seal with a proper edge trim and soft rubber seal mounted on it. I have bought from Seals Direct about 10 years ago and they offered the service of sending out a small sample of seal to verify it will be suitable. I cannot see this option on their website but I will give them a call tomorrow. I prefer dealing with them because each seal has a PDF with a drawing and all of the dimensions shown. They are very handy if you need door, window, roof or locker seals.

On ours the adjustment is on the catch and lock side.
Hope this helps.

P.S.
I think it's called the striker plate.
