First Time To Mainland Europe

Hi,
I am hoping to take my first trip to Europe next Summer. After landing in Dunkirk at miday, and heading, hopefully, to Italy, I was hoping to park overnight after travelling for some 5/6 hours down through France.

Can anybody give me advice as to feasible parking places in order to save me too many headaches on the first night. Any advice will be welcome! - Please don't say stay at home!

Thanks

croeso to the wild site.
any idea where you want to overnight. are you looking for a wild spot? an aire ? or a campsite?

As this will be the first time abroad, an Aire sounds preferable, but really we are open to suggestions
Regards
Gerald

In France the best way to sleep is taking the highway for some kms and park on a service area which are usually comfortable and safe. No nightmares affordable!

Buy the Aires de Dervices book from the Camping Club-price £7.50. It is cheaper abroad, but well worth buying in advance if you are going abroad for the first time.It is in French , but not too difficult to follow if you cannot read the language
