What a fantastic time for our first trip to Spain, left on 16th July came home 17th Aug, the only regret was the timing and the price of the sites, but friends we went with are teachers so had to go when they did, not again,( only because the cost of sites) friends company was great no regrets there, and they have done this many times b4 and we have not.
Stayed at Cambrills, Santa Suzanna, and Estatit, 3weeks then friends went back we headed to Andora and then wormed our way up the Eastern side of France in the next 6 days last stop a wonderfull site at Lac de Orient just outside Toulouse right on a huge lake with a lovely beach. Had a worrying time at Estatit when the mountainside behind us caught fire good watching the helicopters and planes dropping the fire retardent with such accuracy.

Can't wait to go back on our own cos we found some good Aires and the sites we were on accept ACSI AT 15-19 Euro's per night.

nice pic though.

Yes don't know what happened there on my album it's the right way up but as soon as I upload it, it reverses even had my daughter trying to figure it out but to no avail, ah well.

So you stayed at one of my favourite site, RIFORT in L'Estartit, hope you made friends with CARMEN and PILAR, the sisters that run the site.

Do they have campsites in France?
Do they really charge all that ?
I bet you didn't meet too many Froggie motor homers on them.

What on earth are you doing on campsites in Spain & France???????

You don't get many froggie motorhomers on aires that charge either.

The Frenchies are a bit like me, they have this aversion to paying money, we looked in on 2 aires this year (previously free), that had installed automatic pay barriers, we saw several French turn up, tooked a shocked look at the gate & drove off, likewise us.

Also on aires where an official turns up at 9am to collect the money, they'll be a mass exodus of French motorhomes at 8.30 & some of those vans are large A class, where the owners could afford a few euros.

I must admit to doing this at Port Vendres, but some of the aires in the south of France are dearer than some campsites. The aire at Collioure charges 24 euros per night!
