Well I have caught the first mouse of the winter in the garage at home, the little buggers are not welcome.

Caught 42 last year in the house. They were everywhere, ended up with 12 traps constantly going off lol.
Plan was to put stainless steel mesh over the air bricks to stop them getting into the void under the floorboards but unfortunately never got round to it.

Get a cat, problem solved.

I had a problem about ten years ago with field mice coming into my kitchen, under the kitchen sink. I used a humane catcher caught four mice. I drove a couple of miles and released them, and I have never had a problem since. I do get them in my hut, but I have no problems with this.

Shrews can also come in but against the law to kill them, the are the ones with the long nose.

We had one eating the soap at the side of the bath. Baited trap and sat down then whack. Could only have been 3mins max. Wee bugger must have been watching me.

The trouble is rats and mice can cause so much damage, I seem to remember a vehicle manufacturer using peanut oil on the wiring !
For some reason the locals here feed them, maybe its the same idea as this temple in the video,

I was just going to use our ( outside) compost loo in the barn only to realise there was a mouse rustling around in the new sawdust. Moment of panic...do I just go or leap up and sort it out. Leapt up, removed seat of loo, hoiked out the bucket and threw it out the front whereupon the little b*gger ran off in direction of the house. Think it must have left there pretty sharpish too was probably as shocked as me as the bathroom had been undisturbed for seven months!
