Fiat Ignition Keys (replacement)

Hi
We have lost the secondary Fiat key 2017.
Is it possible to have one cut from the master or does the secondary have a chip inside it?

On the earlier x250 the secondary has a chip, so having one without would work the locks but not ignition.

On my x250 got one from Timpsons, don't know if they do x290

Find a local auto locksmith they will then also disable the lost key from the ecu, so if it falls into the wrong hands it won’t start your vehicle

When you bought your van you should have received a small plastic card the size of a credit card.
On that card is information that may be required to mimic your key.
The second key although carries no remote does have a ID48 transponder chip installed which communicates with the engine management system.
I hope you get things sorted.
I think Fiat charge around £85 for a copy.
