Fiat ducato (hymer b694 1991) squib

Hi All

My motorhome is a 1991 hymer b694 with a fiat ducato deisel engine. You have helped me in the past with success may I add. I am desperately trying to source a SQUIB as my horn does not work. (that's what the mechanic said I needed) My MOT is due next week. Does anyone know who I could contact. I have tried all the breakers listed in google but had no replies. Telephoned Fiat direct - Gary was most helpful but came back with zero result explaining it is over 20 years old and surplus stock is no longer available for Fiat. Is there an alternative part I could use?

i have no idea what a squib is but any mechanic could run a wire from the battery to a pushbutton on the dash then to a cheap horn from halfords

From what I know a squib is a copper plate that is in the centre of the steering wheel - I'm blonde so that's as much as the technical jargon I took in

Contacted mechanic - push button is now in progress
