Fiat Ducato euro 6 recall

There is another recall for Fiat Ducato euro 6 engine, it is to replace the turbo pipe clips as they can come adrift and cause a loss of power.
If you have the Fiat app you will have the notification, I’ve booked ours in today at Platts garage to be sorted.

Just looked recall up on the government website and it does not come up? We collect our new van next week ( ducato base 2017) and wanted to see if affected? The previous EGR pipe issue does not affect our van , I am assured by the supplier! Hopefully when we register with the fiat site I will be confident that it is not affected.

We are off to Spain at the weekend and checked the position with local Fiat Van service agents to see if the work could be done prior to our departure. The answer was we will have to get the work done in Spain. The parts are not yet available at UK dealers. The recall involves changing the clip on the turbocharger hose and changing the clip on the air con hose. There is a possibility that these could fail and the hoses come loose leading to loss of power and air con. My view is if I have a failure on the road in Spain then it's a job for the Fiat roadside assistance team.

This may be more of a concern for higher mileage vehicles and those who drive with the pedal to the metal which inevitably puts more pressure on turbo charger hoses. I guess the advice is take it gently if possible until the work is done.
