Hi folks. Am getting an engine warning light (amber) on startup. Have reviewed code, which states Cooling fan #1 malfunction. Have tested and confirmed that both fans are working, and fuses also look fine so must be something else. Any thoughts on what to check or where to look next much appreciated.
Many thanks
Fergus

I don't know if relevant, but maybe with engine off and all cold, spin each fan in turn by hand (wear a glove just in case - paranoia rules!) and see if one feels tighter than the other? the ECU/BCM/whatever could be detecting a higher current load due to resistance getting it going and reporting that as a preemptive warning?

Thanks wildebus. I'm off to see an auto electrician on Monday but will give that a go in the meantime - many thanks!
