Is there any other security I can add to the above, van is all sorted , this is the only vulnerable area now?

Short of wiring into van security system if opened or padlock and chain think you will be stuck on that one - far too easy to break open

Bolt a metal plate [say 4" square or whatever] to the top, link a chain to it, chain goes through inside of box to the bottom and through another metal plate - fit good quality padlock.

A metal band around around the box fastened with a padlock, or the same thing done with chain,

the trouble is its a wicked world, and the thieves don't care how damage they cause.

Mine's wired to the van alarm, with a wire that wraps around the box and lock.

As Ral said, bolt on a metal plate and decent padlock.

Don't overdo it Mike, the scrotes will just think it's full of stuff worth nicking.

Don't put anything valuable in it.

I fitted a Fiamma Cargo Back to my first van. It is basically a large canvas bag. All I put in it were bulky items like a couple of chairs and bedding. Nobody nicked anything despite it only being zipped up.

Most vehicle alarms are wireless. If yours is you could add a detector to the box.
