Hi

We're planning a nine month stay in Europe this year. Our current policy on gives us cover for 90 days. Can anyone reccommend any good experiences with this issue before I start calling up the companies..???

We are both under 50 (for now).

Thanks in advance:cool:

We are with Safeguard - 12 months European cover, including breakdown recovery. Happy travels.

We have used Saga & Comfort in the past as they give a full years cover. This year we won a years free insurance with Sureterm, they only give 90 days per trip cover normally but after a few phone calls I was given the full year cover without any time limits.

extended

I just signed with Shield for under 00 fc and quite good circa 260 days or thereabouts eurocover

Does anybody know which companies give European breakdown cover without any restrictions such as 60/90 days weight of vehicle etc....... getting fed up looking through details of policies on line, sometimes having to ring them to find they aren't giving me the cover I want.
Have considered ADAC but finding that difficult to actually find what I would be covered for.

I would usually get the breakdown insurance when I renew my insurance but the wife won a years insurance with Sureterm which we managed to get with no European time limit but the maximum breakdown cover is 90 days

I think some of the companies deliberately bury information in the T&C, I thought I had found one that would cover me then way down near the exclusions I found they didn't cover vehicles over 3.5 ton & again the max cover was 90 days total in a year :mad: this was supposed to be a 5 star plus package. I persoanlly think European cover should be just that any time limits should be up front & not buried deep in the document. I even purchased breakdown insurance after asking all the questions when I bought over the phone, when the insurance came I found that reading through I wasn't covered on at least 3 of the T&C's I then had to argue to get a refund.

Safeguard - 12 months European cover with breakdown recovery - no size or weight restrictions.

I don't need insurance (I have a years free cover) just breakdown cover. On the Safegaurd site there doesn't seem to be an option of just breakdown cover.

Thanks for posts - we've gone with Safeguard: unlimited european cover :D
