As you folks well know I have just returned from Spain and Portugal via Germany. Including the ferry costs and 3 months on the road we spent a total of £1,972.
This is inclusive of everything you can think of, gas, food, etc... We covered a total of 10137 kms in a round trip. Fuel was the most expensive item. In the next few weeks i will be putting names to places of all the digi pictures, 436 of them. Who says old age pensioners have a load of time on their hands:)

Hello David ! That sounds reasonable for three months on the road, can't wait to see the pictures,
Regards Stephen:)

hiya . we have done a trip around spain n portugal . not going via germany . we took 6 months . similar milage but spent abot 400quid more so i would say you did ok. the fuel etc is about the same even if you just take it slower . we do zig n zag inland and back to the coast . i always say the longer you go it kind of works out cheaper . (per day). bet you had a good time . you havent missed much here . nice cornish summer again.
cheers alan.

Hi David.
You did well! we did 2 weeks less than you, about 2/3 your milage and it cost us about the same as you.:(
However, this included health insurance of around £200 for one year for the two of us, and everything down to the last detail.
Our fuel cost was 897 euro for 4267 miles at 28 mpg average. Your over 10000km equates to roughly 6000mile give or take a few.
I think our costs were pretty much the same!

Hi Graham, Nice one Buddy. looked at your pictures of your trip. Quality is better than mine. I am more into architectural buildings and sea views. I am pretty sure the mountain climbing over the Alps and the Pyrennes pushed up the fuel bill. A lot better drive than last year since I had the Air rides and the Tunit fitted. The cheapest gas/diesel was Luxembourg €1.18 per litre. Thank God the Sun, Sea and the warmth is free:)

The cheapest for me was Gibraltar at 70 pence per litre. When I got to Luxembourg I noticed the price at the motorway service area (cheap) expecting it to be even cheaper further on, but it wasn't. Every filling station I saw in Luxembourg was selling diesel at exactly the same price.

Funny you should say that about the prices in Luxembourg. It is the only Country that I know of, that the prices are the same at all gas stations.
