Expedition Vehicle

While driving along the Mosel valley today I spotted this expedition vehicle, this is my ideal expedition vehicle.
Judging by the damaged passenger side step I'd say it has had some hard use.
The body is mounted using twist locks the same as used for containers.

Is it a Unimog, not cheap even as a scrapper nowadays, last pic looks like a Dinky toy.

Yes, Unimog.
Fairly newish one too, although in Unimog terms that's still about 10/15 years.

Slow and expensive to run/repair ...
Awkward wheelbase for off road and short living compartment ...
BUT then like a lot of these it probably rarely ventures anywhere it's actually capable of going .

Yes it's a Unimog and I agree that in the last pic it looks a dinky toy, it's a full 6 x 6 so should be able to go almost anywhere.
