tried starting car thsi morning, engine turned a few time but did not start Switched off and turned key again nothing just a small ticking sound,
Not really a machanical person but thought I see if battery is flat and went to van , got my Marpin £10 tester tested battery read 14.1v turned head light on meter read 13.8 Said to myself, battery was fine must be the starter motor Being an automatic could not push start so went to ring the break down service (including in my insurance) then was told not covered as policy is not a home start policy, Will cost £90 call out plus tow charge to nearest gargae but will come immediately (well within couple of hours) Work 35mls away no work no money so had to agree. Breakdown man came , had a look took booster from his van linked up battery car started .took 5min, £90 bill.
Now, what did I learn
a) read breakdown policy carefully
b) whatever meter says charge battery first before panic (had charger in garage all the time)
Like my old man said to me once Fool has to be punished £90

flat battery
