Fan of Expanding foam. I have been using this to fill the gaps at home and was wondering has anyone used it to Insulate the pipes and fill gaps and things on their motorhomes. I am seriously thinking of using it under cupboards and underneath to insulate round waste pipes and things, Only bad point is if anything goes wrong it will be a messy job to cut back. Would love to hear anyones thoughts!!!:):)

i was thinking something like foam for all the wind that blows in my van

Last owner of my house was a big fan of it, so when I had to sort the plumbing out I wasn't impressed... Bear in mind before using that some of it is porous and absorbs water.

good old aj:D back at last (been out in the motor);)
time is up now aint it?

I would not use foam I had problem with cold wind coming in what I did
was remove fridge vents and where there were gaps I filled gaps with
fibreglass insulation around fridge then used silver duct tape to seal all round seams this did the trick for me when finished put vents back on cold wind will come in at bottom out top and not get into van do not cover back of fridge only sides top & bottom ( Do not cover hole in floor)
Good luck..

Two points that you might think on mate, 1) Take care where you squirt it, when it expands it does exert quite a bit of force, in the wrong place it could push things about, like the side of the van! 2) if you wrap the pipes with plastic (cut open some carrier bags) first it will make it easier to remove in case of a leak. Have fun!!

could you not wrap loft insulation around your pipework?or sheets?anything that will keep temp. up. easily removable too.

I would use those polystyrene beads they use for packing, I used foam under a bedroom floor once to stop creaking and it lifted the floor, very strong stuff when it has nowhere to go.
