sea front promenade at dover is easy , arrive after 6 pm it is free , and only10 minutes from the tunnel

easy way to find it is to drive to the Dover ferry entrance , turn back at the roundabout and then take 2nd left

Thanks for that we have stayed on Marine Parade before when we were catching the early ferry but I did not realize that it was so close to the Euro tunnel

Were about 20 mins away from the tunnel with hard standing if your interested

Steve, there is an official stopover on the junction immediately before the Eurotunnel exit but it costs about £8 I think. You can see it on the right on the M20 as you approach the junction.

However if you drive up to and past that stop, up to the next roundabout there is an unofficial stopover which has been mentioned on here before. You can see it easily enough on Google Maps.

Only 5 mins from the tunnel.

I drive past this several times a week and it looks like the unofficial stop over has been cordoned off for a couple of weeks now with concrete bollards "due to road works" Looks more like the are trying to stop the use so you have to use the "official" services.

We often stay on the Tesco carpark top of the hill towards Canterbury (near Dover), normally a few others stay on it overnight in the corner, 24hrs Tesco so you can use the toilets. And its free.

This pub is 5 minutes from the Channel Tunnel - get off M20 at Junction 11 - take road to Canterbury for 2 minutes - well signposted. Don't know how much they charge though.
