Happy New Year!

Just checking prices for next summer and Eurotunnel is only £139 return - less than £143 quoted by Norfolk Line!!!

Is this usual??

Tracey

It obviously depends on the size of your van (as well as the time and day of travel) but I have just put my details into the system and came up with the same price for the tunnel (£139) but only £101 for Norfolk line and less than £90 for P&O - and if I were booking them I'd do it through the Caravan Club and probably get a slight discount on that. I'd check your prices again.

we used Tesco vouchers so it cost nothing for the tunnel :):):)

Ferry for us.

We gave very serious thought to the tunnel, using Tesco vouchers, but hate the thought of a tunnel of that duration. Also we like the ferry crossing. Caravan Club offer through DFDS (Norfolk Line) £27 each way (up to 8mtr) if you travel on certain days; Sunday out/Friday back if memory serves.

We used Tesco for Harwich to The Hook 2009 and were very pleased with the deal but this year we are going south rather than east so Dover it is.

We are due to go on the tunnel on the 23rd Feb for 3 months, total cost was £130 but used the Tesco vouchers so it was £35 (should really be £32.50 but you don't get change ) pity they only give 3 times the value instead of the 4 times but it's still cheap. Prefer the tunnel as it's so easy & quick, we used to like the ferry but done it so many times it is boring all the hanging around. Everytime except once we have always been given the option of an earlier tunnel crossing, we try to plan to get there with at least 5 or six hours to spare thinking we could have a rest before travelling across (suppose it should be under really  but doesn't sound right) but have now got used to having a good rest at the Auchan in Bolougne.

Hi, Just booked Dover - Calais return.

Out 24th April - Back 31st May. £106 with P&O

We always use the tunnel we hate ferry's 35 minutes point to point takes a lot of beating and can sit and have a snack in the motorhome whilst crossing , using frequent traveller account only £96 return each booking all year can book 1 day before travel and only have to book 1 way and can stop over as long or as short as you wish and rebook to return when it suits your travel plans.

ferrys

:cool:hi all just booked p.o 8.79m 5tonnes tag out end of jan in end of march £85 return and that's bit more than we normally pay .we like the ferry because when you are on a long journey it's nice to get away from the m/h for a while a stretch your legs and have a meal it gives the wife a rest from cooking and to us it.s start of the holiday.
