European breakdown insurance ???

Hi all, advice urgently needed , we've just become the proud owners of a 1985 vohnmobile and are trying to find european breakdown insurance for at least 4 months . We've been onto gocompare and confused.com , but can only get cover for 38 days, at most . Can anyone offer any advice as to a company that will offer a more extended cover ? Many thanks, Jan .

We had a similar problem with our 1994 Kontiki, We found Britania who will give 6 months cover, its about £150 for a fully comprehensive breakdown service. inc repatriation
You need only come back into the uk for 1 day and then you can return to Europe for another 6 months.

Try caravan club's 'Red Pennant'. Excellent comprehensive cover..always on the end of a free phone number, and able to converse for you in whatever language in Europe you need.
They do just motor cover, or just personal cover, or both.
Have a look at it.

We are with Saga for our insurance & breakdown, we have European cover for the full year. Don't know if they just do the breakdown insurance but you can call them for free. One of the problems you might have is the age of the vehicle, some breakdown companies don't cover vehicles over a certain age.

Have a look st ADAC they are German but cove all of Europe.
