So I recently bought a Adria Twin on a Fiat Ducato 2.3 trying to find out when the timing belt was last done spoke to the dealer to ask if it was done when he put a years mot on it he tells me it doesn’t need one as it has a ford engine in it and that has a chain not a belt is there a way of checking this.
My Rapido was on Fiat 2.8 but had a be engine in it.

If it’s the Ford engine they had issues with timing chains and oil pumps. I think they were recalled for a modification to prevent this from happening. Worth trying to find out if it has had any recalls
Don’t want to be doom and gloom but worth checking out the history at a Fiat dealership.

This is handy for recall checks

You are correct the ford engine did have issues with the oil pump and recalled the transit to fit a upgraded oil pump.
But I believe Peugeot, Citroen and Fiat didn’t as it was going to cost them too much

What year is it as the earlier ones of the newer shape did have transit engines in them.
Easiest way is to go onto euro car parts, ( ecp) website and put your reg number in then search for timing belt
That solution doesn't work for me, as it just tells me that my registration number is invalid and to enter a valid one. Similar messages over the years from other parts companies, including Halfords. Apparently, it's a frequent issue with motorhomes. What is really annoying is when you know exactly what part you require but the company insists on a registration number before it will even tell you whether it has it available.

I haven’t had that problem with motor factors, but because I have put my own number plate on, Mercedes can’t find it even when I give them the chassis number
